SAT Adaptive Exam:

SAT Adaptive test has two section as follows and a break section between the two

  1. Reading &Writing (RW)
  2. Math

  • Each section consists of two modules (Module 1 and Module 2).

RW Module 1: RW:32 minutes and 27 questions

Math Module 1: Math:34 minutes and 22 questions (This is the only difference in the Math section)

RW Module 2:

  • Based on the user's performance in Module 1, the difficulty level of questions in Module 2 changes.
  • Three question pools exist in Module 2: Easy, Medium, and Hard.
  • Each pool has 27questions.

Pool Selection Criteria for RW Module 2:

  • Easy Pool: Awarded if the user scores less than 40% in Module 1. Questions are worth 1 mark each. No minimum requirement to enter this pool (0%).
  • Medium Pool: Awarded if the user scores between 40% and 69% in Module 1. Questions are worth 2 marks each. Minimum requirement to enter this pool is 40% in Module 1.
  • Hard Pool: Awarded if the user scores above 70% in Module 1. Questions are worth 3 marks each. Minimum requirement to enter this pool is 70% in Module 1.
  • Note: Required Percentage can be modified: https://help.testpress.in/article/107-how-to-change-the-percentage-for-the-adaptive-pool

MATH Section Module 2

  • The Math section follows the same adaptive logic as the RW section. The difficulty of questions in Module 2 adjusts based on the user's performance in Module 1.
  • Key Difference: Unlike the RW section, the Math Section’s Module 1 has a slightly longer duration (34minutes) and fewer questions (22).
